LPT: pack your toiletry bag the night prior to traveling and only use that travel bag when getting ready the morning that begins your travels. This way, you will identify anything you may not have packed the night before and will have time to add it to your toiletry bag before setting off.

And accidentally leave your wash bag on the side in the bathroom and only realise you have absolutely nothing when you’re in another country.

Been there, done that.

The solution is simple. Pack two toiletry bags, and use one the day before you travel, so you get all the benefits of OP's tip, pack that one away in your suitcase, and then use the one you plan to travel with the day of your travel, and swap it out with the one in your suitcase. That way you have a spare in case you forget your toiletry bag.

Yeah I am with you. I have more chance to leave it if it is out the morning I leave. Plus I am not likely to go to any country that I can not easily replace my daily toiletries.

Came here to voice that same reality check. Good in theory, but an extra thing to check for in the morning.

Solution: Cover yourself head to toe in toothpaste and stick a toothbrush up your ass. Problem solved.

What's a wash bag?

I just pack things as I use them that morning and then carry it to my pack right away lol.

If you live by yourself. Put your keys in the bag, so you'll need it when you leave for your trip.

Tie it to your suitcase with a cord :)

Yep, I did this last time

Post-it on the front door.

Yup. Exactly what I did.

Yup - me too. Had to have someone get in the house and overnight some personal items that couldn’t be replaced . It cost me a fortune.

LPT: if you travel a lot, have an entirely separate toiletry bag set aside that’s always ready to go. Same for charging chords.

Yeah. I travel enough that I leave at least 1-2 Wall USB chargers and couple phone cables as well as a fully loaded toiletry bag in my roller suitcase. I’m pretty close to leaving T-shirts, socks, and underwear in there as well.
